I feel routinely violated by Facebook posting…

I feel routinely violated by Facebook posting what I read on Facebook. Every time I return to the desktop version after using mobile, there’s always an update I wish didn’t post. I read something in a friends’ feed – an article they posted, perhaps – and it auto-posts to my feed there.

I know there are settings to change this, but the settings should require you opt IN to this, not vice versa.

If it’s this difficult/annoying for someone who is always on social networks, I can’t imagine my mom knows about this. I can’t imagine most casual users are able to easily understand and fix this.

Stop it, Facebook. Start learning about what makes a good UX and start sticking to doing the right thing. I’ve been doing my job for less time than you’ve existed as a company – you should be the experts here, but you keep proving the world wrong.
